Live Arrival

On all our livestock orders (excluding any livefoods) we guarantee live arrival. Any delay in postage due to our chosen courier will not affect the guarantee, however any delays caused by the customer (including, but not limited to, providing the wrong address and failure to be in when the livestock is delivered, resulting in redelivery, etc.) will make the live arrival guarantee void. Any livestock to sent outside of the UK is excluded from our live arrival guarantee.

Our livestock is packaged to allow for delays, making deaths in transit highly unlikely. In the unusual event of a 'dead on arrival' we must be notified by the customer as soon as the parcel arrives, with full colour images as proof. If this is not done within 24hrs of your package arriving, the guarantee becomes void. In some cases, we may require additional proof of the death such as sending the parcel back to us at the customer's expense. If the customer's livestock arrives dead, and the appropriate steps detailed above are taken, we will either replace the livestock or offer a refund. This will be the customer's choice, unless the livestock species is out of stock, when a refund will be issued.

We MUST be informed of any dead on arrivals, this can be done by contacting us at info@alismenagerie.co.uk with the subject 'Dead on arrival'

Livestock terms

1) All sizes are approximate as each individual is slightly different. If you require specific sizes/ages we will do our best to accommodate this, however there is still no guarantee this will be possible or without mistake.

Mantid sizes are advertised using Instar, which refers to the number of moults the mantis has been through. For example, L5 would show that the mantis has been through 5 moults, and L8 would show 8 moults.

Other inverts will be approximately measured in cm/mm and will not necessarily reflect each individual specimen.

2) Unless otherwise stated, all livestock is unsexed. Sexed stock is not guaranteed and we cannot be held responsible for any mistakes in the sexing process. If livestock is sexed, the genders of groups will be displayed in the following way.

Male:female:unsexed this means that 1:3:8 indicates 1 male, 3 females and 8 unsexed.

3) Where possible, all our Inverts are captive bred, some even by ourselves. On product pages, look out for these codes-

• IICB This means 'Isotope Inverts Captive Bred'- these inverts were bred by us
• CB This means 'Captive Bred'- these inverts were bred in captivity by somebody else
• LTC This means 'Long Term Captive'- these inverts were caught from the wild but have been in captivity for a long period of time
• WC This means 'Wild Caught'- these inverts were recently caught from the wild

You are highly unlikely to see either of the last 2 (LTC and WC) on our inverts as we believe capturing animals from the wild for pets is unnecessary.

4) Images used are examples of the available livestock and are unlikely to be the individual specimens available.

5) Livestock frequently varies with pattern and colour from one individual to another. We cannot provide specific colours and patterns, nor can we guarantee that the customer's individual will look like the sample image.

6) With the exception of isopods sold in cultures, product prices are for just single invertebrates. Deal prices are available for multiple animals and these are displayed under the drop down menu.

7) Ali's Menagerie/Isotope Inverts reserves the right to change prices at our discretion without an prior notice.

8) Ali's Menagerie/Isotope Inverts reserves the right to refuse any order if we wish.

9) The UK climate is sometimes unsuitable for shipping livestock due to low or high temperatures. We reserve the right to delay shipping by any length of time to ensure livestock arrives safely.

10) Unless otherwise arranged between us and the customer, payment is always taken at the time of the order.

11) We accept no liability for loss or damage caused by our livestock when with the customer.

12) At the time of shipping, all livestock appears healthy and free from illness. We accept no liability for any illness that occurs after the livestock arrives. Any deaths on arrival are covered by our live arrival guarantee which can be seen above.

13) Collection can be available via prior appointment from our Dorest address. We accept to responsibility for any issues that occur after collection.

6) Ali's Menagerie are not professionals and have no formal training. Our care guides are written only from our hands on experience with animals that we keep/have kept. We accept no responsibility for any misuse of our information, nor and loss or damage caused by our content.

Returns

If you are unhappy with your order, contact us as soon as possible to arrange a refund, replacement or return. If your livestock is dead on arrival, please see the live arrival guarantee section at the top of the page and follow the instructions detailed there.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

Shipping

Livestock is shipped twice weekly on a Monday and a Thursday only. This should guarantee next day delivery (after the day of dispatch) but also ensures the livestock is not stuck in the post for a long period of time over the weekend. Orders placed Sunday and Wednesday evenings may not make next day dispatch and will have to wait for the next shipping date.

We do not send out everyday, so same day dispatch is not guaranteed. On the day of dispatch you will receive an email confirming that your parcel has been sent.

Privacy

Ali's Menagerie/Isotope Inverts will never sell or otherwise distribute personal information and your details to any third party.
